At Claflin High School, she recorded 3,603 career
points, 829 rebounds, 523 assists, and 326 steals as
a four-year first team all-stater. She is the leading
scorer in Kansas history (boys and girls) and is 10th
nationally among female high school players.
She was selected to the USA Today and Parade
All-America first-teams in 1997. She scored 18 points
and had five rebounds in the NIKE/WBCA
All-American Classic in the summer of 1997 and was
named MVP of the Red team.
She was one of only 12 selected to play in the U.S.
Junior World Championship Team which represented
the U.S. in the 1997 FIBA Junior World
Championships.
As a senior at Claflin High she averaged 46.4 points,
8.1 rebounds, 6.3 assists, and 3.3 steals per game.
She also established a state record by scoring 71
points in one game that year.
As a junior, she scored 61 points in just 17 minutes
of the opening game of the season. She averaged
38.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 4.9 assists as a
Junior, where she was selected as Parade
All-American fourth team and selected to play on the
U.S. Basketball Junior National team.
She broke her arm early her sophomore year and
missed four games, but she returned, having to shoot
left-handed her first three games back and averaged
26.4 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 5.8 assists per game
that season.
During her freshman year, she averaged 29.9 points
and 8.8 rebounds per game. She set a state record
with 114 points in three games at the state contest
her freshman year. She was selected as the Kansas
Gatorade Player of the Year her junior and senior
years.
Her full name is Jackie Marie Stiles. She is the
daughter of Pat and Pam Stiles. She's the oldest of
four children. She was born in Kansas City, Kansas
on December 21, 1978. Jackie is also a track star;
she set a state record with 14 gold medals in high
school at the state track meet.

Stiles was a regional champion during her sophomore, junior and senior
seasons. She posted 17 first-place finishes and seven second- or
third-place finishes.

Other Athletic Accomplishments of Note
Age 7 -- Stiles participated in her first basketball camp.
Age 11 -- won Kansas Elks Lodge Hoop Shoot Free Throw Contest and finished
15th nationally.
Age 12 -- Won the 1500-meter run at the National AAU Junior Olympic Track
and Field Championships, placed third in the 800 and eighth in the
heptathlon.
Age 13 -- Participated in the Barton County Community College Girls Summer
League and held her own against high school seniors. She was selected MVP
at the Southwest Missouri State Advanced Camp.
Age 14 -- Stiles led the Claflin Junior High School team to an undefeted
record and averaged 30 points a game. She scored 39 points in the
semifinals of the Central Prairie League Junior High Tournament.
She also played a summer softball team in Claflin, competing against squads
from Little River and Marquette.
9th grade -- During the fall as a freshman, Stiles competed in both
volleyball and cross country. She was honorable mention all-CPL as a hitter.
Stiles owns school records in the 3200 (11:50.5), 1600 (5:12.5), 800
(2:12.4), 400 (58.2 seconds), triple jump (36 feet, 9 3/4 inches) and long
jump (16-1). She also owns 11 junior high track records.
She set a state meet record in the 800-meter run in 1996 (2:17.4).
